I applied for a photographer’s pass for Colossalcon this year! Fingers crossed that I get it, if not I may have to ask people that have booked with me to pre-pay instead of pay in person, so stay tuned! Hopefully it won’t come to that, though. :)

Friese Frame Photography (Formerly Tofu Photography) is now booking for Colossalcon 2014!!

Shoots are $20 per person for groups of 3 people or under. If you have a group of 4 or more, please contact me!

If you’re interested, please fill out this form HERE and if you’d like to see more of my work please visit my Facebook page HERE! Thanks so much and I look forward to working with you!!

I AM BOOKED FOR COLOSSALCON! Thank you very much everybody and I can’t wait to work with you all!! :)

Hello everyone! I added an FAQ to this blog about just some basic questions I get from time to time! Check it out when you can. :)

Hello everyone! Summer con season is quickly approaching along with Colossalcon so I’m now opening photo shoots for Colossalcon!

As stated above, one shoot costs $20 and for each extra person from that shoot would be $5 more dollars. So for example, if you wanted a shoot for a group of four, it would cost $20 + $5 + $5 + $5 and would equal to $35! You can either pre-pay for the photo shoot or pay upfront at the con, it doesn’t matter to me.

I have two years of experience at college with photography and have taken a course with PhotoShop. Editing, as stated above, is included free of charge! Some PhotoShop edits I usually do include:

  • Removing acne
  • Whitening/lightening teeth
  • Lightening/darkening
  • Color balance
  • Spot checking costumes (as in: if there is a fuzzy or a stain on it)
  • Making body paint even (for example: if a Homestuck troll cosplayer didn’t paint their palms [as most do], I will do so in PhotoShop!)
  • Adding my watermark. I do this solely because someone stole a photo I had taken and re-edited and did not ask me or the cosplayer for our permission. However, my watermark is professional-looking and is not distracting from the photo.

Some notes about what I typically don’t do for shoots: I will not shoot on Thursday or Sunday of any con. I never know for sure what time I will be arriving or leaving the convention, so I don’t want to promise to do a shoot on those days and end up not being able to!

If you would like a photo shoot from me, please contact me at one of the four following options:

One final note: I only take about six shoots for each convention (three on Friday and three on Saturday) because I do have photo shoots for my own cosplays to have as well. It will be first-come-first-serve, so if a slot is filled there’s nothing I can do except put you on a waiting list or recommend other photographers I know that are going to this con that you could get a photo shoot from!

Thank you for your time and for reading this! I look forward to working with you! :)

EDIT: I AM NOW BOOKED! Thank you everyone!

i’m still really mad with how these pictures turned out during the shoot (but then again i was using a different lens for the first time but that’s not really an excuse) so i’m just glad i was able to save them in post

different edits i did:

  • noise reduction
  • light balance
  • color balance
  • cropping/straightening

Got photos back from our despair shoot at Katsucon! I’m gonna sort some more and put another set or two together, and then let Nina put together a set or two of her favorite shots, but here’s a start! NOTHING about these costumes or this con went right, smoothly, or as planned, but we’re very grateful this was able to happen at all, so woo! Thank you again Elaine, for the fabulous photos!
